My walk on the Right bank

     As a reminder, the right bank includes several districts of Paris, notably the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th.

    There are important shopping districts, such as the Champs-Élysées, the Opéra district, the famous Avenue Montaigne and the Marais district, which offers a multitude of fashion and design boutiques.

    During this walk, we started by exploring all of Avenue Montaigne and its department stores such as the Dior flagship, Louis Vuitton, Loewe, Loro Piana, Givenchy, Tiffany and co, which all belong to the LVMH group. But we also stopped in front of Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent which belong to the Kering group, or even Chloé which belongs to the Richemont group. We were able to discover that certain houses remain independent such as Courrèges or Dolce Gabanna which is trying to be bought by Kering.

    Then, we stopped in front of the Plaza Athénée, which is part of one of the 12 palaces in Paris. One of the chefs of one of the restaurants at the Plaza Athénée is Jean Imbert, winner of the Top Chef competition who succeeded chef Alain Ducasse in order to bring more celebrities to the palace.

    We then passed through Avenue George-V, where we stopped in front of Bulgari, which is part of the LVMH group and which will open its hotel in Paris for the 2024 Olympic Games which will take place in Paris. Then, we arrived in front of Elie Saab, who made himself known by lending dresses to American stars on red carpets such as at the very famous Met Gala. Then we stopped in front of Hermès which bought the shoe brand John Lobs and the hat maker Motsch.

    Afterwards we went to the Avenue des Champs-Élysées on which we passed Cartier, Mont-Blanc and Fouquet’s.

    I really liked this morning, it was very interesting and informative, I was able to learn lots of things about the different houses and learn more about the Right Bank.
